LEAPFORCE/APPEN GOOGLE HANGOUT

AND FACEBOOK MESSENGER  SCAM

There has been a major scam popping up recently. No, I am not saying that Leapforce is a scam.

Leapforce or Appen is not a scam. Please note that Leapforce and Appen are same now. They have been acquired by Appen Global. So when I say, Leapforce, it would mean Appen and vice versa.

But there are some scamsters trying to take advantage of people who have signed up with Leapforce and are yet to hear back from them.

They are also trying to take advantage of people who have failed the Leapforce qualification test on their first attempt.

Here is how the scamters are trying to rip off money from people.

1) They make fake Facebook accounts and ping people with the offer of job, saying guaranteed income of at least Rs 20-30,000 or $500-$1000 (they will adjust the currency according to your country) a month working for Leapforce ( and other companies).

No profile picture, English names, very few friends, etc, are the indicators of a fake Facebook profiles.

2) They will ask for your referral IDs (in case you are actively working for Leapforce) so that they can put it in their websites and make affiliate commissions.

3) They will take money from you beforehand, before the Leapforce qualification exam even starts and may simply disappear, without ever getting back to you.

4) They may even claim that they are from Leapforce or Appen

5) They will post job openings in various work from home Facebook  groups and will ask you to come to Google Hangouts for pre-interview.

6) They will then ask for your personal details like – bank account details, card numbers, Social Security Numbers (SSNs) and so on.

Leapforce will only coctact you from email addresses like these –

         admin@leapforceathome.com

         xyz…@leapforceathome.com { xyz… meaning anything like support, agent, etc }

But they will never ever ping you in Facebook.

So whenever you see such pings on your Facebook messenger, please let me know. I will take this up with Leapforce and try and track them down, if possible.

I fucking hate scammers, liers and cheaters. They are fucking scum in the face of this planet!

What is hurting me even more is that, they most likely are Indians.

Why you shouldn’t fall for this trap?

1) If you’ve been waiting for the last 2-3 months to hear back from Leapforce, I got a bad news for you. The wait time can be anywhere from 1-6 months. You can check the status of your application here –

https://www.leapforceathome.com/qrp/public/home

On the top of the right hand side, there is a check application status link, below Enrol Now button.

If you don’t hear back from them in 6 months, you can re-apply again with the same gmail.

2) You may lose thousands in this stupid scam. They will take money from you and may never get back to you.

3) The test questions are updated and changed in every exam. So even if they have the answers, there is no guarantee that you will get the same questions as they did. And hence you will fail plus lose your money if you pay them. Another lose-lose situation here.

4) If you can’t crack the Leapforce Qualification Test, then you are not meant for this job. Even if you somehow get into it, say by paying these scums, you will be kicked out in few weeks’ time.

Why?

Because Leapforce needs high quality works. And to do a high quality work, you need to have an aptitude level of at least cracking the qualification test.

When you can’t even crack the exam, you won’t do high quality works. And I can bet my life to it, that you will be kicked out of Leapforce in weeks.

5) Lastly, it is about integrity and being a man( or a woman). It is about being truthful and honest.

Would you be glad to work at something knowing that you cheated your way in to it?

Would you want to appear for few days and disappear again from Leapforce, because you will most likely be kicked out for quality issues?

Cheating only cheats you and no one else.

What you should do when you come across it?

Please comment below  and give me as much details as possible. I will make sure that actions are taken against them. I will take this up with Leapforce.

Edit Sept 25th 2018.

This email recruit.leapforceagency@gmail.com is a scam. A reader posted below saying that he was contacted by this person.

Notice that email, it ends with “gmail.com”

I spoke to that person in gmail, that’s where he apparently hangs out, and he was claiming to be Barry Ames and from Leapforce. He is not.

Leapforce/Appen don’t do recruitment in Google Hangout or via Facebook groups

And Leapforce’s email will always end with “@leapforceathome.com” Its also a bit confusing, because it is not just “@leapforce.com” but “@leapforce at home .com” without spaces of course.

And regarding exam, they will always contact you via this email –

agent-qualification@leapforceathome.com

27th Nov 2018 Update –

Leapforce was acquired by Appen towards the end of last year. Since then, their website url has been changed to “https://connect.appen.com/qrp/public/home” and they are no longer called “Leapforce”

The website has the big bold “APPEN” on it and its logo.

And most importantly, their official email, no longer ends with “….@leapforceathome.com” as mentioned above.

Now it looks something like this –

support@connect-mail.appen.com

                                                                            agent-qualification@connect-mail.appen.com

So any official email communications regarding working with Leapforce/Appen would come from email ending with “…..@appen.com”

Also they don’t require any investment or upfront payment for equipment or anything of that sort. And they don’t ask for money in the form of Google Pay, iTunes card or anything of that sort.

Please don’t be scammed and do report the scammers, their emails, Facebook links, etc via comments below.

Let us help one another.

Where you should apply?

You should directly go to their official website here and apply for the available positions. Here is their official website link –

After making almost $3000 online, I started this blog to document my own journey as a search engine evaluator aka Google rater, bug hunter, website usability tester, and blogger. Now I teach others how to make money online through genuine work from home opportunities. I've been featured in Huffington Post among others. You can read more about my personal struggles and successes in making money online here.

On Facebook a guy is scamming me telling me to download hangouts. Never did. But his name on Facebook is Diggler Christopher.

  2. Brandy Morgan

Facebook name Jena Raymond posted in an online yard sale group today about a data entry job. I sent her an “interested” message and she claimed to be from leapforce and told me to get the Hangouts app for my interview and to send a message to the their agent when I got it. The email was: Alexisjohn2244@gmail.com. I saw red flags from the start, the job description she gave me sounded nothing like what I saw from legitimate reviews of ppl that worked for leapforce. Her job description was “Your Primary duties include: Preparation of Balance sheets (Mini), account balancing, invoicing recording, proper data analysis of sales records and recording pay slips into accounting database.”….none of that sounded like anything to do with search engines. Also I saw the company name had been changed to Appen and wondered why she would have referred to the company by it’s old name. Also the pay scale was different from what I found online. I also thought it odd that a lady from Ohio with pics on her page of her partying would go through the trouble of posting on a yard sale site in SC to give job opportunities like she was some good time recruiter that will give you an awesome job, drink some jack Daniels with you, and even let you interview on Hangouts.

    1. Sam Narzary

Sorry to hear that. Please be careful from next time. And please know that no companies email ends with “gmail.com”

  3. Dody Bainbridge

I replied to a post on Facebook from Tunde Fundz. He sent me this
You will undergo an online interview with the company hiring agent now. Here is your interview code HRDR888 Here is the email :} recruit.leapforceagency@gmail.com you are to message via Google Hangout asap
It was Devin Enrique that did the “interview “. He asked a ton of questions. I had my guard up. Then he wanted my bank account and routing number. Plus my log in information. Said it’s so they can make sure I get the money they are going to send. I don’t give out any of that information. While I was messaging him I was doing research about the company.

  4. Suzana Silva

I am in middle of doing this to start working with them and he ask all these questions my bank accounts to put money there for me to buy stuff to start work I’m starting to think it’s a scam he ask me if I would run away with there money I said no he said the FBI will get me, and i dont see a email the name Johnson salter shows up, is it a scam he said I would be getting a PC to work from. Please email me back letting me for information, they else paid off my Credit cards.

    1. Sam Narzary

What do you mean “middle of working with them”? Did you pass the test? If not they are a scam. And they will never ever threaten you with FBI and all.

They don’t asks for credit car details and there would be an email about the qualification test from Appen. Leapforce has been taken over by Appen, so the email for exam and any other work related stuff would end with a domain name “….@appen.com” like “support@connect-mail.appen.com”

  5. Noemy

My sister got in contact with someone one face book named Madison Emaline and she sent her an email and a interview code the guy had her to download hangout where she did the interview he asked for her credit card information.. My sister has no funds he then proceeded to.tell her.to buy Google play gift cards..

    1. Sam Narzary

They would never ever ask you for money. I hope she didn’t send them any gift cards.

  6. sHANNON

  7. Renee

  8. Jessie Dolan

    Facebook name: Katerain Mallory

    Email account on Google Hangout:
    carlosmark730@gmail.com

Said they would pay all my CC debt and that was the biggest red flag! haha

  9. Aimee

I answered an ad on fb and karla Becerra told me to download hangouts and I got contacted by Frank Smith when the funds weren’t available told me to go get an iTunes or steam card for $300 to activate the “G1 time tracker” account. I’m so mad locked all my cards. I didn’t give other information so hopefully it won’t go too far.

    1. Sam Narzary

Damn! They are getting really aggressive. Hope you didn’t send them gift cards or anything.

  10. grace

someone contacted me from leapforce using this email ad: leapforcerecruite@gmail.com and
    web.facebook.com/bossman.rongolam
    are these legit?

    1. Sam Narzary

No. No company’s email ends with “@gmail.com” That’s the biggest red flag of a scam.

  11. Shelainea gayles

Paulin Lee Ella is on Facebook claiming to be an employee from Leapforce. Same situations as above; download Hangouts, send a HR code, etc.

  12. Lex

I was just contacted by a guy on facebook saying he did online recruiting for a data entry company. The guys name is Michael Zimmer his facebook is: @michael.zimmer.92316 He told me I needed to download hangouts and add talk2leapforce77@gmail.com and enter my interview code HRD0384. I found some of the interview questions really weird and than next thing you know it they wanted all my private information! I declined because I felt uneasy about just giving it away without going to the proper website! This is really sad and troublesome!

    1. Sam Narzary

Thanks for sharing. It indeed is troublesome and one needs to be wary of such scammers.

    1. Sam Narzary

I reported this gmail to Leapforce. Thanks for sharing.

  13. Ms.b

I stupidly fell for the scam. The guy on fb is Derrick brain are @ idowu.jamiu.7161 and the person he told me to contact for my interview is barnabastarkey@gmail.com. I really was hoping for the best, pls report these guys so no one else gets hurt. He gave me their company acct number to deposit money in my credit cards so I can purchase the equipment needed for the job with leapforce
I wish I did my research first but blind by finally finding work ☹ I cancelled my credit cards but they still have my info?

    1. Sam Narzary

Aaahhh. I am so sorry you felt for this. I have reported so many scam gmails to Leapforce, don’t know what action they are taking. I am doing my best, through blog posts like this, in spreading awareness to people.
